Food, supplements, cosmetics, medical devices, agricultural products, and many other goods are regulated by partner government agencies, not just Customs. If your product falls under the FDA, USDA, EPA, or another agency, their requirements have to be satisfied before your cargo is released. We manage that so a partner-agency hold does not turn into a week of dwell time.
Common Partner Agencies
- FDA — food, beverages, supplements, cosmetics, drugs, and medical devices.
- USDA — agricultural products, plants, and certain wood and animal products.
- EPA, FWS, and others — chemicals, vehicles, wildlife products, and more.
How We Prevent Holds
The best time to handle a PGA requirement is before your cargo arrives. We identify which agencies apply, make sure the prior notices and documentation are filed, and flag any registration or labeling issues before they become a hold.
When a Hold Is Already On
If your goods are already flagged, we work the agency's process, provide the documentation they need, and push for release. For perishables, that speed is everything, which is why we pair this with fast perishable air clearance.
